Simple shutdown of the PV generator on the roof

Q3 ENERGIE GmbH & Co. KG is now offering the next generation of its Q Fire Switch, a simple switching technology for galvanic isolation of the PV generator at the roof inlet. A switch box is installed at the roof entrance and connected to a small control unit so that the building inside can be specifically de-energized on the DC side even in daylight.

Switching then takes place either directly via the control box or via an optional external emergency stop switch. In addition, the system is AC-coupled, so it switches off the PV module cables in the building even if the grid is disconnected. Manual intervention after a power failure is not necessary, as the system switches on automatically when the public grid is available again.

The QFire Switch is designed to provide safety in buildings with PV systems during maintenance work or in the event of a fire. The price for a system for 4 strings, i.e. up to an output of around 20 kWp, is 655 euros net RRP. The QFire Switch is modularly expandable, so there is no restriction in terms of system size.

In the new version, Q3 has paid particular attention to easy retrofitting and has also been able to significantly reduce the system's energy consumption with microcontroller-controlled high-performance switches. >> Download press release
