System configuration & operating modes (AlphaESS C&I Cloud)
  • Self-consumption: The battery charges itself with surplus energy from renewable sources and discharges itself when required for self-supply. A minimum SOC limit protects the battery from deep discharge.
  • Charging and discharging: Defined time periods for charging and discharging enable optimization of the energy supply based on grid conditions and electricity tariffs. The SOC limits can be adjusted individually.
  • Peak shaving and load shifting: The storage system reduces peak loads by providing stored energy during peak load times. Load shifting uses favorable tariffs for storage and releases energy in expensive time windows.
  • Pmeter offset: The storage system provides support during high grid loads by supplying additional energy. This function serves as an emergency power supply to stabilize power consumption.
  • Frequency modulation: The storage system stabilizes the electricity grid by reacting to fluctuations in the grid frequency. This helps to compensate for over- or under-frequencies and improve grid stability.
  • Demand management: Energy flows are automatically controlled to optimize load profiles and minimize electricity costs. The storage strategy can be adapted to dynamic electricity prices.

System extension
  • Individual battery modules within a battery cabinet: Retrofits should be carried out within 6 months to ensure even cell ageing.
  • Additional battery cabinets: An extension is possible within 1 year. However, we recommend keeping to 6 months so as not to risk any loss of capacity.
  • Retrofitting after 1 year: Possible restrictions on usable capacity & battery performance guarantee - ideally do not wait longer than 2 years. The product warranty remains unaffected. (“For battery modules retrofitted after the initial installation of a system, this also applies for a period of ten years from the time of the initial installation of the system”: p.2/4 Warranty point 4/4.1)

  • From > 45°C: Performance reduction, max. 50°C operating temperature
  • Below 15°C: Possible loss of performance (charging capacity of the battery)
  • From 0°C: Batteries can no longer be charged
  • From -5°C: Battery discharge no longer possible
  • Approx. -5°C to -10°C: Risk of physical battery damage

H29 - Low voltage:
The H29 is particularly suitable for low voltage up to a maximum of 30 kW.

H50 “Pro” - Medium-voltage certificate:
The H50 “Pro” will be available in Germany from September 2025 and will then have the VDE4110 medium-voltage certificate.
If the grid operator absolutely requires the medium-voltage certificate, you will have to wait for the H50 “Pro”.
The current H50 does not have a medium-voltage certificate and will not receive one.

Cable routing and preparatory work:
Check how the cable is routed in the building or across the property.
Check whether above-ground or underground preparatory work is required for the installation.

Communication with higher-level HEMS and parking management systems is possible via the following interfaces:
