Battery modules now even more powerful

Q3 ENERGIE GmbH & Co. KG is now offering a more powerful battery module for its QBATTenergy storage system.

Q3 has been offering lithium-based storage systems for PV systems since 2012. In 2015, the QBATTmodular system was launched on the market and lithium iron phosphate was used for the first time. A further increase in performance has now been achieved for the battery modules, which come from the Chinese manufacturer Lishen, so that QBATTbattery systems from Q3 can now be supplied with 3 kWh instead of 2.5 kWh nominal capacity per module.

The cycle stability has also been increased from 6,000 to 8,000 cycles at 90% DoD. The time value replacement guarantee of 10 years required by KfW for the new storage tank promotion was already met with the old modules and is also given with the new modules. The higher efficiency should also have a positive impact on the price for the system operator. The recommended net sales price for the basic system with 3 kWh nominal capacity (i.e. 2.7 kWh net) is EUR 5,352, including inverter, EMS, bidirectional meter, online portal and emergency power supply, plus VAT and transportation.

The systems can then always be expanded in 3 kWh steps up to 12 kWh with the new battery modules. According to the manufacturer, retrofitting should be carried out within 12 months of commissioning.
