IKEA Berlin Waltersdorf: Firefighter Switches and Junction Boxes for PVT Large-Scale System
In spring 2025, Germany’s largest PVT system for probe regeneration went into operation at the Berlin location of a well-known Swedish furniture retailer. The project was implemented by solarSTEP Energie GmbH and is considered a milestone in the combination of renewable energy and innovative building technology, setting new standards for urban energy supply and climate protection.
QFire Firefighter Switch for the Furniture Retailer
For the furniture retailer itself, we supplied our state-of-the-art, custom-configured QFire firefighter switch. This switch galvanically isolates all DC lines during deployment, de-energizing them to ensure maximum safety in the event of fire – in direct compliance with IEC 60947-3.
Surge Protection Junction Boxes for the PVT Large-Scale System
The PVT large-scale system extends across the customer parking area as a combined system for charging power for customer vehicles, as well as electricity and heat for the furniture retailer’s large heat pump. Custom-built surge protection junction boxes from our company were deployed here to protect the system from damage caused by lightning strikes and other overvoltages.
